Next reboot is OK.All install were to Virtual PC this time but I have seen them or real PCs too.Does anybody had similar problems? How to avoid these RUNDLL errors?Windows 95 install problems (and maybe also 98, I'm not sure): During one of the reboots the CD-ROM is not available, but Windows Setup needs many networking files from it. Is there any workaround other than copy all files to HDD? Regards,Petr

chrisnic
Yes.You may receive random general protection (GP) fault error messages in Mmsystem.dll. You may also receive one of the following error messages: Rundll - This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. RUNDLL32 caused a General Protection Fault in module MMSYSTEM.DLL .This problem can occur if the "drivers=mmsystem.dll" line is missing from the [boot] section of the System.ini file. Did you ever received the message like this mmsystem.dll???Might be with hardware problem?..
RJARRRPCGP
If random, it's more likely to be a malfunctioning processor. A bad processor overclock or overheating can cause this symptom.
the_guy
I've had the networking problem before. Also, if you install the ie4 shell update on a computer that has win95 installed, the start menu won't work and folder options is restricted. Does anyone know why?the_guy
