tal ormanda Posted October 16, 2006 Share Posted October 16, 2006 (edited) I just noticed when I went to put a CD in the DRIVER is gone!!!!help!!I can boot to my 9GB back up with the CD drive but why dont it appear in my computer??I tried uninstalling it and it still is the same.FIXED1. Click on START button, the click on RUN2. Enter REGEDIT and press enter3. When REGEDIT starts, open up the following foldersHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}4. After clicking on {4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} you should see two settings on the right-hand side:"Upperfilters""Lowerfilters"Click on each of them, press DELETE and click YES. Not everyone would feel comfortable going in to the registry to fix this themselves..At some point, I found a program my by some company who makes cd burning software that fixes this problem commonly left by uninstalling some poorly designed burning software..
