Joshatdot
I am not sure how I did this but ever since I made my custom XP disc, my web cam does not work properly. It worked before in other n-lite builds, I made this one to be pretty streamlined, with little services running. Other builds I did were more for SP2 and hot fix integration, and some customization.Windows detects and says it is working properly, but any apps I try to use with the web cam just shows a black screen. XP says it is a OmniVision Dual Mode USB Camera Plus, but its an old Creative Labs WebCam Pro model PD1030.Here is a copy of the INI:[Main]Env = 1.2 RC - 2.0.50727.42.Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 nisf
I had the same problem. I suggest the following procedure,1) plug your camera in the usb2) right on my computer (desktop) select properties and then hardware and then device manager(or something like it)3)click on imaging devices and rightclick dual mode usb icon select properties then driver then details4)locate in the windows directory the .exe files that you found in the previous window and rename them.5)UNPLUG the camera and reinstall the drivers for the web cam pro (which can be found as creative web cam pro ex drivers in the internet)if you want you can restart and (hopefully) the problem is solved. Joshatdot
I did what you said, but I deleted everything from the Device Managers list of drivers for the webcam. I then DL'ed and installed the drivers, and rebooted. After reboot, I checked DM, and now there are yellow ! on both my CD/DVD Drives, Creative SB Live! Series, Universal Plug and Play Enumerator.AHHH!1 I deleted too much, heres what I deleted:@ECHO OFFDEL C:\WINDOWS\AMCAP.EXEDEL C:\WINDOWS\OMCAMCAP.EXEDEL C:\WINDOWS\OMCAMDIB.DLLDEL C:\WINDOWS\OMNIUNS.EXEDEL C:\WINDOWS\OVTCAM\6620P.SETDEL C:\WINDOWS\OVTCAM\6630ADP.SETDEL C:\WINDOWS\OVTCAM\6630AFP.SETDEL C:\WINDOWS\OVTCAM\6630P.SETDEL C:\WINDOWS\OVTCAM\7610P.SETDEL C:\WINDOWS\OVTCAM\7620AEP.SETDEL C:\WINDOWS\OVTCAM\7620P.SETDEL C:\WINDOWS\OVTCAM\7630P.SETDEL C:\WINDOWS\OVTCAM\76BE.SETDEL C:\WINDOWS\OVTCAM\8600P.SETDEL C:\WINDOWS\OVTCAM\CUSTOMP.SETDEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\BMPPROC.DLLDEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\KS.SYSDEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\OMCAMVID.SYSDEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\OVTCAMD.SYSDEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\KSPROXY.AXDEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\KSUSER.DLLDEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\OMCAMEXT.AXDEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\OMCAMEXT.DLLDEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\OMCAMSTI.DLLDEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\OMCAMUSD.DLLDEL C:\WINDOWS\TWAIN_32\OMCAM\OMCAMTWN.DSDEL C:\WINDOWS\VIDCAP32.EXEPAUSEI made a CMD file to delete those...I should have moved them instead. You think it is the KS.SYS, KSPROXY.AX & KSUSER.DLL? everything else looks to be the webcam.
nisf
it seems like you deleted too much. it is better to rename than to delete the files located at the windows directory (or other system directory). What would i suggest?1st if there is a way to regain the deleted files would be the best2nd if you cannot undelete those files try reinstaling the drivers for the devices that have problem. one at a timeif you succeed in one of the previous steps then try to fix the cam problem by just renaming the amcap.exe and the omcamcap.exe file (and maybe the omnius.exe file) and then repeat the procedure that i described in my previous post. It should work since i have the very same cam and i encountered the same problem in my computergood luck

After the installation plug in the camera (not before to avoid automatic installation as ovt camera)and a suggestion, if you can switch to linux (say ubuntu) your life will be better.nisf
