LLXX
Boot to DOS or another OS and check the functionality of those keys to determine whether it is a problem with Windows or the hardware.

The Apache
first off, i'd try to clean your keyboard.get an airremover and suck out all the dust from between the keys you are having the trouble with.also, can you state what keyboard you have and whether it is new? thanks. glens4life
Im prety sure that it isnt a problem with dirt as CTRL and ALT work in some situations, like CTRL + BACKSPACE but not in others like CTRL + ALT + DELETE and the keyboard is part of the laptop bought Winter 2005. T D
Boot into dosmake a ms-dos startup disk. Open my computer, rightclick drive a: and format. Check box "create msdos startup disk" (if it's greyed out, try toggling the quick format option). Restart your computer and after a few minutes you should be in a black screen with white text. Try pressing the keys and if all of them work it's a problem with windows and not the laptop itself. Edited October 1, 2006 by T D
