[Solved] How to restore Power Button functionality

Hi!

A few months ago, I started testing nLite. I had no luck at all!

Last week I tested version 1.0.1. I used nLite to slipstream SP2 and Xable's lite update pack.

I let it create the ISO, too.

Everything went flawlessly. However, I've got three proiblems. They are:

1- At the first logon, the Administrator account couldn't log on. I typed my user name and logged on.

2- When I tried to log off, I was told that my account is restricted.

3- When I tried to shut down my computer using the Power Button, nothing happened.

For the third problem, if I removed some files from Windows, what are they?

I want to restore the Power Button functionality.

The first and the second problems are not that nasty, but any input is welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers for nLite, nuhi. I will never give it up, again.

Thanks to bonedaddy, too. You proved you never use useless applications.

@ RogueSpear

Thank you for the input.

Actually, I've used the same copy of Windows I'm always using; except it's nLited.

With my regular UACD, the Power Button functions correctly.

@ dcyphure

No. I mean that bottun on my case.

@ all

Any idea about restoring files or reg keys or whatever?

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, I used cancerface's CreateUser utility instead of nLite, and solved the first two problems.

Even with nLite 1.2 RC, the third problem still exists. Could it be related to some HotFix in Xable lite update pack?

Thanks.

did you use nlite to remove drivers ?

did you choose computer type in nlite unattended setting ?

Thank you in your interest in my problem.

Actually, I don't use two pages in nLite: Tweaks and Unattended. (I don't remember the exact name ATM!)

And, no, I don't remove any drivers.

Well, I set ComputerType = "Standard PC", Retail in WINNT.SIF. But, I do this manually, later. I mean not by the help of nLite.

Could this be the problem?

<EDIT> YES! I removed that entry from WINNT.SIF and the problem is solved.

If I remember "Standard PC" is for micros with non ATX power supply. Wiht ATX power supply set to ENABLE the option "Instant OFF" in BIOS, section Power Management.

Peraphs the power button back to OK.
