Interesting tip, I wasn't willing to download those 40 something Mb version out there; just a question are the VB6 (Visual Basic 6) - Runtime Files and .NET Framework 1.1 + 2.0 Addon-Pack on Sereby's site also multi-languaged?

I tested the netbt unlink modification a little, the hack itself works fine!

No problems because of it, I'm very happy with it. It seems to work for non-administrators, too. Tested it with power users. Didn't test it with users (I don't except problems).

I just noticed the following about the other netbt hack you offer in nlite:

When I set up the user and do the first login, several things are beeing executed. If I create the new user with administrator privileges, this user deletes the TransportBindName key everytime. So I need to set it again to \Device\ everytime I create a new user ...

I keep SMBDeviceEnabled set to 0.

I guess this is a problem in general ... please solve it *g*

So, ports open after starting netbt via net start netbt are:

TCP 139

UDP 138, 137

File exchange etc works fine ...

this is needed imo, so then you can go in and just enable the ones you may one, instead of having to trawl through each one..

hmm ...

2 things disturb me:

1st: the things under visual effects are not only visual effects in system, not only effects in display properties but extra stuff (window tracking speed e.g.)

2nd: Then I would prefer to disable all visual effects (with one button) and then select the things I want back.

But I don't want to expand 1x options just to disable each ...

I can't realize why almost everywhere is this tweak presented at this screwed up form (i mean BackupIntervallThreshold). Someone probably published it and other people copied and pasted it to their own web pages, lol. Sorry if I'm wrong, but look at the Micrsosoft key. Anyway, this is a good tweak and should be added to nLite at this form:

This policy tweak can be used only to lock taskbar and make the "Lock the Taskbar" item grayed. Zero value forces nothing, rather use:

"TaskbarSizeMove"=dword:00000001

-don't report to microsoft if your system was infected by spyware

Tweak for Malicious Software Removal Tool, does not seem to be suitable for nLite.

Regarding TransportBindName zero-length value, it seems to be my fault, because I told nuhi to "update" the Disable Microsoft-DS tweak with it. In next version only SMBDeviceEnabled will be set.

Yes, it is BackupIntervalThreshold - my fault (I wrote that by hand and was not sure if it is intervall or interval - didn't copy it)

Thanks for the Taskbar reg key, didn't test it yet.

Yes, don't delete TransportBindName. I think this was "updated" from RC7 to RC8 - thought the new version of nlite was crap, until I found that out ;-)

Well, I don't blame you, just try to google for "BackupIntervallThreshold".

Never mind. But still, I don't understand where did it come from without spaces and why everywhere is only 100 minutes interval set. Look at this KB article:

Imho the best and the easiest way how to integrate a tweak for disabling IE7 ClearType without need to create any files, is currently to add this command to Unattended > RunOnce page:

REG.EXE ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main" /v UseClearType /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

Weird bit - you mean "hex:70,01,00,20", don't you? "CallForAttributes" can be set to "dword:00000000" to enable Rename and Delete items on the context menu.
