Why does this re-integrated battery driver have issues?

Hello chaps,

A quick query. I remove 'Battery' from the hardware support list, then re-integrate my backed-up driver.

Windows XP appears to install perfectly, yet upon first boot a popup appears requesting compbatt.sys, despite the fact that this file was integrated with the .inf driver.

Adding compbatt.sys to the 'keep' box resolves the issue.

Perhaps removing a driver simply to re-integrate a backup is a pointless exercise, yet, I am still curious as to why the compbatt.sys is not being installed correctly.

Any suggestions?
