Jorre Posted August 5, 2003 Share Posted August 5, 2003 this might be useful for those who've got an unattended cd with Norton AntiVirus 2003things you might drop:- Manual folder: only containing acrobat reader and a pdf file = 9.5 Mb less- MSI\WINNT folder: INSTMSIW.exe file (cfr FAQ & Tips) = 1.7 Mb less- Support\MSIE folder: is this just an IExplorer installer ? sure seems so = 74.4 Mb less (!)these tips are NOT testedi'm gonna test them tomorrow Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

pmcx9 Posted September 17, 2003 Share Posted September 17, 2003 You can extract the latest symantec defs file and replace into the virusdef\latest folder to create a much more recent set of definitions than the aug2002 ones used by default.Great for dial up PC's as liveupdates biggest download is not needed! Just download the newest definition file from ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/antivirus_definitions/norton_antivirus and extract it to \VIRUSDEF of your NAV folder, overwriting the old files.
