Installing Intel Chipset Drivers?

Hello,

First of all I'm not sure if this is the right section to ask this, if not, can a moderator please move it?

(I've tried searching these forums for more info but it's like searching for a needle in a haystack)

I've never updated chipset drivers, people recommended me to do so, so I thougt I'd give it a go, only 1 problem, it's harder than it seems...

I've searched the Intel site for chipset drivers, but it's very confusing, and when I thought I finally got it, it only was a 1mb .exe installation(other people had 40mb installation files), so something didn't look right, that's why I am asking for your help.

Chipset version : i865PE

If you need more information, please ask.

got there by going to intel.com

click on teh drivers & support link

click on the INF Update Utility underthe heading Popular downloads

it includes the 865 family chipset

OR

click on the download center link on the left

seelct chipsets on the left

select chipset software or desktop chipsets

select desired option

they do appear to be only 1mb big for the 865 family

Seems like I did find the right drivers, I heard there could be loads of things going wrong, is this true?

not sure about problems - use those that came with pc and all seems ok to me

see if anything in the readme that may suggest why
