swancd
This situation is as follows:SBS 2003 machine. There is a folder on this maching called "Confidential" which needs to be accessed by only 1 user, lets say "Bob".The other user we have on the server is called "User". These are the only two users we have. Basicaly we want "Bob" to be the only person the access the confidential folder, but the user "User" needs to be able to login to the SBS2003 to do the Send/Receive Mail because sometimes we can't wait the standard 15 minutes. The problem we have found is that once the "User" is not an administrator they loose the ability to do this function. We have tried creating the Exchange snap-in with the "Bob" user and saving it but the "User" doesn't have all the options in it.Any ideas! Thanks
IceBlackIce
You want the "user" to login locally in the server? why is that? anyway theres a policy in the "domain controller security policy" that controls that (to make the non admin personnel able to login locally at the server). Do not confuse "domain security policy" with the one above.
swancd
"User" needs to be able to login to the server while "Bob" is not in the office so we can synchronise the e-mail messages on the server.
fizban2
easiest way would be to 'deny' user the rights to view that one folder, not the preffered method but it will get the job done
IceBlackIce
my solution works for the thing you want to do...just make the changes to that policy and the "user" being and admin or not will be able to login locally to the server.
swancd
If we deny "USer" access but they are still an Administrator they could change the permissions?"User" must be able to Send/Receive in the "Server Management".
