Sharing Broadband

Recommended Posts

It is possible to use ICS/crossover instead of a router, this is a cheaper way to go than the router, however ur pc will need to be on all the time for the other pc to be able to access the internet. I agree with tha_filer, I would go with the linksys router if you dont want to turn on ur pc every time you need internet access on the other pc...

yea its really cheap as well, ill order it

this might sound immoral but can i have full access to the files/resources on my sisters computer and my computer be totally stealth-like on hers?

also i think i could do with more bandwidth :)

In that case, get a firewall and block any incoming netbios sessions from the ip address that u assign from her pc. As long as you allow outgoing netbios sessions on ur firewall, you should be able to see files on her pc, but she won't b able to access urs. Alternatively, you can assign passwords to your shares so she cant access any of ur files.
