can't DirectX be integrated? replacing existing files so that it won't cost extra space?

Ofcourse I meant integrating in Windows, not in Windows Setup.

I don't like add-ons/installing apps from svcpack. Rather have my apps installed by RunOnceEx @T12/13.

This way I can simply use the original installers and I am independent of any user-created installer.

Thanks for the info about HFSLIP, but I decided not to do it... have to learn about hfslip.. too hot for that

Yes, they are mostly useless for end users. Apparently, Microsoft updates DirectX every two months.

The only people that really benefit are gamers who must use those updated modules/files.

I thought we had come to the conclusion that these bi-monthly DX updates were for devs and mostly useless to end users...

You probably noticed MS updated "DirectX for managed code".

AFAIK Avalon (vista's UI) will be written in managed code/C#.

IMHO these releases are public "betas" and MS probably wants user feedback.

And btw, ever heard of Orbit Dock (uses .Net and these weird new directx files ) ?

1 This is just only directx. Full package.

2 I don know if its better. I just know that it works.

3 If you read thru my post you will see i used /silent ;but you must unpack the downloaded file! I use winrar to unpack.
