@DigeratiPrime, since ubuntu is a primary objective the latest versions will always be available for this one first. appart from that there shouldn't be any difference, it depends either are using an old computer or if you like gnome over xfce

for those wondering, xubuntu is the light-weight version of ubuntu (running xfce as window-manager) so it's perfect for your PII/PIII/K6 processor

ubuntu runs gnome, kubuntu kde, xubuntu xfce, edubuntu is oriented to schools, nubuntu to networks and security...

there are multiple derivations based on ubuntu (either official or unofficial) you better check their homepages

I had installed the Beta version, and I just upgraded to final. It's a great OS.

There seems to be a big bug with the installer, if you try to resize an NTFS partition (to create a new partition from the free space) your NTFS partition becomes corrupted.

pretty much half the linux installers i've ever used have buggy partitioning.

i -never- rely on them anymore.

(they especially like to make overlapping partitions)
