deleting a folder and its contents

hi again folks,

just one last prob before my disc is finally finished.

once everything is installed the way i want it theres a folder on the C: drive in the following path

C:\Documents and Settings\folder

does any1 know how i can delete this with my clean up cmd plz

If the folder isn't named one of the following, or additionally the name of one of your users then you can remove it.

  • Default User, All Users, NetworkService, Administrator, LocalService

okay, try this.... put the rd command onto a bootdisk (make one) then

remdir ( most likely in the system32 folder)

then boot from the bootdisk

run rd "pathname and stop with the folder you would like to delete" /s

hope that helps

sadly the documents and settings folder is write protected due the ntuser.dat file in many of the folders... you could also try killing explorer.exe in safe mode then run cmd console and do it there... may or may not work
