nolim
Does anybody know if I can run a program as admin from my non admin account without entering password each time and selecting "Run as".It's quite frustrating clicking "Run as" all time... JuMz
does it need to run all the time? if so, look on google in turning it into a service that can start up automatically (or manually if you choose).

JuMz
well then, you can just add yourself as part of the adminitrators group!right click on my computer, select manage, go to local users and groups ----> usersfind your user, and right click>propertiesat the tab at the top, select member of: click add, then type in Administrators, then click oklog off and log on and all should be good. nolim
But I don't want all the permissions of administrator.I want the minimal access to what I use and need!Only when I update windows, I login as administrator and update my system.Usually regular user permission are enough for me.Is there any other way of running as administrator in windows? sTe
Two Methods ... Right mouse button the exe file, and click the runas option. This should then let you access the program via your admin account.Or you might want to look into the dos command runas /savecredAt work, to get into Internet Explorer I have created a bat file (doing this from memory)ByPassGPS.bat, and in the bat file I call the program I want to run egrunas /savecred /user:corp\aas3843 "c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"The first time you will be prompted for a password, enter your admin account password. Once entered, that password is then cached. To get rid of the cached password run : c:\windows\system32\nusrmgr.cplIf your restricted mode, click the blue writing "manage passwords"then you should be able to get into Advanced, Manage Passwords.Just remove the cached password. nolim
10x the "runas /savecred" is exactly what I was looking for...
Zoofield
The 'runas' idea is better I was just going to say you could change permissions on that particular programs folder to allow access. Works for games but not CD rights, I guessGood to see you using the Restricted user acount. Should be standard in my opinion.
