reset boot.ini

click on start and click on run then type this command

c:\boot.ini

and there remove line rether then these

[boot loader]

timeout=30

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS

[operating systems]

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

and enjoy it

Don't forget boot.ini is also read-only. You'll need to clear that before you can save your changes. I'd also recommend making a backup copy in case you get into trouble so you can restore the default.

thanks. I cant see the boot.ini file but I can run it when I type c:\boot.ini. I'm also viewing hidden files/folders and when I try to save a boot.ini file to my c:\ disk it says it exists but I can't see it, so i cant edit the read-only options :s

open up a command prompt

type this in

attrib -R -H -S C:\boot.ini

edit your boot.ini file the way u need...save it.

go back to your commpand prompt and type this in

attrib +R +H +S C:\boot.ini

edit...

nevermind...i see you have it fixed...
