You can't save windows activation now ! It's old method from Windows XP RTM version, since Service Pack 1 you can't backup activation.

How come I can still backup activation on Windows XP SP2 VLK?

If you have a VLK you doesn't need to backup your activation. Activation isn't needed at all with volume license, it's the goal of "volume" licenses.

my mistake, it was suppsed to be OEM not VLK. At the moment of the post I was installing VLK, it was bad typo ...

Would you care to define "backup activation"?

Where is it located?

I'm not a nube and don't mean to sound like one,,,,but I just don't understand what you're talking about.

Sorry.

Before you had a chance to backup an activation file (wba.dbl) so you could place it back to Windows\System32 if you reinstall your system, so no activation is required again ...
