Better to install applications during windows install or after logon?

Recommended Posts

I have been researching a little while i do not fully understand everything i am wondering thus why people would need to install programs after they logon versus during the windows installation.

I myself have used a few of ryanvm cab files to install the windows updates, ccleaner, and adaware. I plan to have a few more installed later.

I appreciate the responses to this ?.

See my answer in the other thread ; and search on the forum about it if you want to understand what is done behind the scene. (the main question is : do you want the default user and all future users to have this program)

About the WU & RyanVM pack & etc. ; the question is "do you want to have old and buggy files on your disk ?" (but both ways work)

That's the answer there...

If the application makes customized settings that only apply to the current user (Adobe Reader and WinZip come to mind) then it should be installed during the GUI part of setup from CMDLINES.TXT. That way the customizations apply to all users who logon to the system.

Oh, and....

Can u say "Back to Back" NBA Champions??
Why yes I can.... :D
