Is it just me or none of these registry tweaks work for IE7?

f u r using in unattended install, its not working coz ie7 must be executed atleast once. so after the runonceex execution, just open the ie7 windows thru Run registry entry and during next reboot, apply the tweak and remove the Run registry entry.

Hi, here are some reg tweaks I have gathered around.

I would like to ask, if anyone know to do those 5 things:

1. Enable "Links"

2. Uncheck "Require Server Verification (https:) For All Sites In This Zone"

3. Uncheck "Enable FTP Folder View"

4. Check "Enable Memory Protection To Help Mitigate Online Attacks"

5. Check "Empty Temporary Internet Files Folder When Browser Is Closed"

About 5-th: I have found those 2 tweaks to empty TIF, but none of them work:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\Cache]

"Persistent"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]

"Delete_Temp_Files_On_Exit"="yes"

I haven't been around tweaks since messin with vista a lot but I said look em over

any line that has Google in it you need the rest are other stuff I use

TheTOM_SK

those are reg tweaks for 1-4 but dumping the history can really only be accomplished by a cmd file thats run at each logon as I've discovered thats the only time when it permits doing those things. Anyone else have any suggestion then go for it. I was waiting on Boardbabe to reply to a sticky before I posted that again

I'm not sure if I understand you. Are you saying that in a unattended install, it won't work?

;Add Google as a Search Engine

;Add Google as a Search Engine

;Make Google DEfault Search Engine

If you only want Google, I applied these with my unattended and they work for me

[IE7]
REM http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/ie7/default.mspx
REG ADD %KEY%\iAdd /VE /D "Internet Explorer 7" /f
REG ADD %KEY%\iAdd /V Inum /D "CMD /C Start /Wait %SystemDrive%\APPS\IE7\IE7RC1-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe /passive /update-no /no-default /nobackup /norestart" /f
REG ADD %KEY%\iAdd /V Inum /D "REGEDIT /S %SystemDrive%\APPS\IE7\IE7tweaks.reg" /f

That IE7tweaks.reg gets added to my Cleanup.cmd and is applied right before it does reboot.

With Vista we use the AutoUnattend.xml

			<SearchScopes>
<Scope wcm:action="add">
<ScopeDefault>true</ScopeDefault>
<ScopeDisplayName>Google</ScopeDisplayName>
<ScopeKey>Search1</ScopeKey>
<ScopeUrl>http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en</ScopeUrl>
</Scope>

ScopeDefault will set it as default

@Sgt_Strider :

IE7 Window has to be opened atleast once before you apply the registry settings, otherwise its not working. so i open iexplore.exe after runonceex and restart, then apply the regs.

How do I get the settings to apply in an unattended install?

Is there a setting to automatically enable "Open these next time I start IE7" when more than 1 tab is open?

I would like IE7 to always save all the tabs that are open and open them when I restart. It's annoying to answer the question every time I close IE7.

Wouldn't it be smart enought to REMEMBER my answer the next time it asks me?
