OScommerce, IIS and register_globals

Recommended Posts

Dear MSFN friends,

I'm desperate to install a PHP / MySQL based webshop on my site but I can´t get it done.

I installed PHPnuke on it and afterwards OScommerce, but it gives me this error: “Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory.”

My provider of the webspace I´m renting doesn´t want to enable “register_globals” becourse he says that it´s dangerous for my site and other PHP sites on his server. The server I´m on is a Windows 2003 based IIS so “.htaccess“ isn´t there (only for Linux, but we already knew that).

What I want with/from my Webshop is:

-Works without “register_globals” so using another type of variables

-Free / Open Source

-Works more or less like OScommerce

-Works with credit/debit cards

Other questions are:

-Is there a work-around on an IIS server?

-Are there any other free webshops like OScommerce that don´t use the setting "register_globals"?

Any ideas? Thank you for helping me out ;)

p.s. www.puntomx.net is the link...
