Computer unable to accept cookies

My ex-wife has asked me for some computer help (we have a child together or I'd never speak to her). Her computer will not accept cookies. I have tried every setting I can in IE and then installed FireFox and it too won't accept cookies. I ran Spybot S&D, Adaware, Microsoft Anti-Spyware and cleaned everything up and it is still happening. I've also run a virus scan (it was a while ago so I forget what they had).

I figured that even if it was a setting in IE installing FF wouldn't even care what IE said.

I suggested we refomat the computer (it is 3+ years old and always full of garbage) but she didn't like that idea.

Anyone have any ideas what this could be? Is there a setting in Windows to blanket refuse cookies?

I have no clue which OS ur running but i'll assume its XP (be sure to list that next time)

go tools>Internet options>Click the privacy tab>and the default button>hit ok and restart the computer.

it should now accept cookies
