[Question] Searching for a new router

Wicket20519

Recommended Posts

Another update:

I switched the security on the Linksys to WEP 128-bit. Everything works like a charm. Apparently, there is something wrong with the WPA-PSK settings and it has to do with the two Zonet adapters.

Thanks for your help! I will play around with the router and adapters a bit more and try to figure exactly what the problem is and will return with my findings.

For a high-end router i would get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16833150022 (99.99$)

for a lower-end thats still pretty good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16833127143 (44.99$)

ive used both and have not had a problem with them.

the d-link has been used very heavily in a very warm room and has yet to have a problem (over a year now)

the netgear router i got for a friend a few months ago, it has really good range, and alot of features.

Glad to hear Wicket! It's always a pain in the butt to find incompatibilities, but when you do, at least you can do something about it (i.e. smash the offending component). :)
