so my dad is trying to play a bruce springsteen concert on his computer, and no volume...

so i go in and first thing i do is to check the volume control to make sure that the volume is on, all is fine except for a new column called "auxiliary" which was muted, i unmuted it and the volume is now fine but is controlled by the auxiliary volume. has anyone ever heard of this auxiliary before? i am just wondering why this has happened.

Do you have Line Out as well or just Aux. I think you are pluged into the 2nd audio output port on the sound card and not the headphone/speaker port. Not really a problem. Try another output hole on the sound card. It should work too.
