dkreifus
Is there a way to slipstream/automate the update to Windows Update? It always prompts me, and i have not seen a sign of any way to auotmate this...
Tsunami
It was done with WU5 a while ago, I don't know if it's the same update with WU6 apparently it's also possible with WU6. Edited February 22, 2006 by Tsunami
dkreifus
i read that post. It didn't answer anything except that it hasn't been done yet.
RyanVM
Of course it's possible. It's the exact same procedure as WU5, except you also need to add entries to txtsetup.sif & dosnet.inf for wups2.dll. And if you want to take it a step further, you can also integrate Microsoft Update by including muweb.dll as well.
Tsunami
It looked to me as if you could just download the file in the last post, and install it with those switches.
RyanVM
@Tsunami: Yes, that would work too@Me: It also occured to me that rather than editing txtsetup.sif & dosnet.inf to add entries for wups2.dll and then putting wups2.dll in i386, you could also just put it in $OEM$\$$\System32 on your unattended CD and it should copy over just fine. dkreifus
OK...I probably am doing this wrong, as I am a bit confused.I have WUA.exe (windows update agent)Can I just have it in RunONce exectute as:wua.exe /wuforce /quiet /norestart ? RyanVM
I don't know if those are the correct switches (though you can probably find out by running the exe with the /? switch), but what you're saying should work. What I was saying was to directly integrate the updated files into the XP CD so you don't have to install it from RunOnceEx
dkreifus
Well, it worked nicely in RunOnce.Could I run it with the working switches in SVCPACK?
zedox
Can someone post a link or a detailed guide on how to intergrate all the parts for windows update? It seems to be the only thing i have to do after runnning my unattended disc!
