Go to "My Computer"

Step III : (Deleting unwanted components)

Create a folder called Removed in C:\Nero folder

Move all the components you dont want into this folder. Why? bec you might make a mistake and you will need it later.

Here is what is inside my Remove folder

th_a7202_Nero_0001.jpg

Lets refer to keytotime's guide on what you can and cannot remove.

admin install and leave only these folders:

[FILELOCATION] - You don't need the Nero MediaHome or the Redist Folder

[FILELOCATION]Common Files

[FILELOCATION]Core

[FILELOCATION]Nero Home Components - only the NT folder

[FILELOCATION]Nero Toolkit

[FILELOCATION]Redist

[FILELOCATION]System

Redist\MS\System\comctl32.ocx

In the nero Core folder delete all .nls and all .txt except for nero.txt, also non english help files

Step IV : ( Installing Installshield 11.5)

Step V : (Editing MSI)

th_51acb_Nero_0004.jpg

th_6a177_Nero_0005.jpg

Refer to your Removed Folder i told you to create when you start to delete componets using installshield.

The most difficult part is to track down all the NeroMediaLibary#######.

Open up all the "+" and delete all the NeroMediaLibary#######, triple check to see you got them all.

Otherwise your installation will fail bec. we already remove the NeroMedia cab files. So if you leave one

just one, installation will fail.

Step VI : (Importing Serials)

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Installation\Families\Nero 7\Info]
"Serial7_1139205089"="*###################"

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Installation\Families\Plugins\Info]
"Serial7_1139205157"="*####################"
"Serial7_1139205177"="*####################"
"Serial7_1139205197"="*####################"
"Serial7_1139205216"="*####################"
"Serial7_1139205227"="*####################"

I got strange errors with this new release. (german here)

When I only remove 1 component with IS 11.5, the installer gives me an error which says that the install is corrupt. The error comes up at the very end of the installation. All apps install fine and work. Only this error appears. (I could write an AutoIt Script which would kill this error)

BTW: The Installer now creates the shortcuts. Yeah.

I have not deleted any of the components, but I'm receiving the "Fatal Error" message as well. It appears to happen only when executing from the Administrative Install. Something goes wrong with the installation when the administrative install point is made with Nero 7.0.5.4.

I'm getting the same error(english ver.)

I followed tempuser's guide and I still get it, I think I must have missed something.

I attached a screenshot if it helps anyone.

Yeah, I got that too (the fatal errors - two of 'em).

And I have Nero 7.0.12 and it's 18MB. I removed the same components from 7.0.5.4 and it's 27MB. wtf? Am I missing something? What's the best compression utility+settings to use. I really want to get this thing down to the same size as my older version, else I won't be able to include it on my discs.

I've resorted to my old Nero V6 way of repacking this app.. a two step snaphot repackage with AdminStudio. It's a jolly pain in butt going through the better than half a meg reg file looking for invalid entries, etc. but in the end it works. Still testing.. and testing some more.. ugh. I like to breakdown Nero into three discreet installers; 1. Nero Burning ROM proper, 2. NeroVision, Nero Recode, CD Labeler, and 3. InCD.

hi ! is a good guide once again , but my installengine give me an error "an erro occured while downloading the file http://www.installengine.com/cert05/dotnet...etfx.exe." i have netframework 2.0 installed so what is my problem ? thank you sorry about my english.

Not just you ..

The file that downloads is 409KB file. when you run it will look to:

http://download.microsft.com/download/e/b/...otnetredist.exe

If you go to that address the you see "This Site is under constuction".

From search at MS you find that dotnetredist.exe is dotnet 1.0 or 1.0a , that's what it came back with on a query for me.

Another file is11.5 whines about is visual sharp j redist.

To me it appears that 11.5 just want's to phone home no matter what files I supply it , prob to help me , yeah right.

I'll stick with is11 or admin studio 7 ftm.

Getting same errors others have reported , and that's without editing the nero.msi.
