CptMurphy
You can't because C: has to exist in the system, it's where the MBR is.
noonereallycares
How can i configure xp to allow me to delete folders from c:\home ?Are you logged in as an administrator? Is it possible that you have configured C:\Home to "read only" for general users? You can't because C: has to exist in the system, it's where the MBR is.I don't see how deleting a non-system folder from the C:\ has any impact on the MBR. ChunkDog
I believe changing your drive to a Dynamic Disk will give you this functionality also, but you might want to research into it further before making that decision to upgrade a disk to a Dynamic one, because it is not reversible. dougiefresh
You can't because C: has to exist in the system, it's where the MBR is.I don't see how deleting a non-system folder from the C:\ has any impact on the MBR.It won't have any effect on the Master Boot Record (MBR). The MBR is stored at sector 0 of the hard drive (think: sector 0, cylinder 0, head 1). Partitions start beyond cylinder/head where MBR is stored at (about 64 sectors later). And, besides, this isn't even a system folder we're talking about here! Edited February 4, 2006 by dougiefresh
