BoardBabe
RogueSpear: Thank you for clearing that up. Applying this .reg file at cmdlines.txt or later will work perfectly fine indeed

DigeratiPrime
like others have suggested the hosts file seems the best way to go. and dont forget forget to disable DNS service.instructions on that here:http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

And disable DNS? Yea disable it if you don't want to your computer to be able to resolve domain names to IP addresses (ie - web browse).
BoardBabe
like others have suggested the hosts file seems the best way to go.I don't think it is... And I've explained why in previous post
Nightlord
Correct me if I'm wrong...but isn't the HOSTS file slow as hell? The computer checks it every time you access a webpage, thus slowing down the browsing process.
RogueSpear
It's easy enough to test it out yourself. Give it a shot. Just reboot after changing the file over. The first thing you should notice is that it takes forever and a day for your NIC to initialize.

DigeratiPrime
i use the same host file on several machines, ive noticed no performance hit anywhere.
BoardBabe
Well, they really work kinda differently (hostfile and domain blocklist), so it kinda belongs in it's own topic and ultimately its only what you preferre to use that matters. If you experience webpages opening from running files downloaded from P2P networks, or applications on your computers showing unwated adds, please note the domain. The list will grow with (bad?) experience...
