I did not use RyanVM's cab files or Nlite to integrate hotfixes.

Use BTS lastest Drivers Pack

Windows Installs ok.

But will not boot into windows. Automatic Reboot.

I have a very similar setup:

  • Asus A8N-SLI Premium (BIOS v1008)
  • AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+
  • 4 GB Corsair (TWINX2048-3200C2PRO x2)
  • BFG GeForce 7800 GTX OC (x2 SLI)
  • Windows XP Pro (32-bit, SP2 slipstreamed & Bâshrat's DriverPacks (September's latest))

Did you just build the system using at least a 350W power supply? More often than not, unexplained reboots are caused by insufficient or poorly regulated power. I'd recommend at least a brand name 400W+ supply that can handle 20A or more on the +12V rail when using a one good GPU such as yours.

It could be a heat-related issue. Are you water-cooling your CPU? The chipset on our motherboard requires fan cooling in the CPU area. Windows setup doesn't tax the system much, but OS loading causes a definite power spike. Also, this motherboard will not stay cool when upside-down due to the chipset heatpipe. An ATX tower is highly recommended.

Which BIOS version are you using exactly (v1009, or v1011 beta)? I haven't updated to either of these because I'm full loading my RAM slots at 400MHz with custom recommended timings (2-3-3-6) without issues. I don't want to drop to 333MHz and I don't like beta firmware unless it fixes an issue I know I have.

Can you get into Safe Mode?

There seem to have been some issues with the MassStorage and LAN DPs, but the latest should work for us with nForce4. Everything worked flawlessly for me back in September with RAIDs on the nForce and SiI3114 controllers. Are you using RAID on either of these? Which one is your hard drive connected to?

P.S.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but I'm just trying to narrow down the possiblities. :)

i am going to swap the powersupply and see what happens

i will get back to you.

So you are using the latest BTS and no problems with rebooting. ok

I am able to install xp properly but system keeps rebooting after

gui mode.

i can enter safe mode even, if i disable all the startup i still get reboot

maybe something is wrong with the ps.
