Is there any way to change the msi and make the WLM to autostart but not to open the main window when windows start?

You can add this reg key to the msi (altered when selecting via tools window)

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger]
"AppSettings"=hex:42,02,01,00

and the autorun reg key

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"msnmsgr"="\"C:\\Program Files\\Windows Live\\Messenger\\msnmsgr.exe\" /background"

Thank you but there is something that I don't understand.

First of all there is already an autorun row in the msi. It is the HkcuAutoLaunch in registry table.

How can I add this registry key in the msi with orca:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger]
"AppSettings"=hex:42,02,01,00

I knew I had posted this previously in this thread and without looking to check,

I also remember placing this path at the top of the tutorial...

The MSI is placed here by Microsofts distributed EXE...

"%allusersprofile%\Application Data\WindowsLiveInstaller\Product"

i also saw the tutorial, but the strange thing is that now in 4 machines (all vista ultimate) this path doesn't exist.

i also ran searches for .msi files and i couldn't find anything.

i only found some temp files for the windows live installer. maybe the spanish installer behaves different, i don't know.

will try it another machine and hopefully later i can get my hands on an xp computer to check that out.

happy holidays!
