[Question] is .NET as bad as everyone says?

The primary reason why I don't like .NET is because it's severely bloated - even the most trivial of programs, when compiled using .NET, take up an enormous amount of space. I've also noticed that .NET programs tend to take much longer to start up, and also consume more memory.

I think it's much the same situation as with Java.
