Kashim
Is it possible to block outgoing connections to certain IPs using the built-in Windows Firewall? For example; I want to block all outgoing connections to 123.123.123.123, would it be possible? I don't want to install a 3rd party firewall for this if I can do it with the built-in one.Title Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on.--Zxian
cluberti
The firewall in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 is inbound-only. There is currently no way to block outbound traffic with the built-in OS tools, and you will need a third party software product to do this at the OS level.Windows Vista will include a two-way firewall, but Windows XP and 2003 do not (and likely will not get that feature either). saugatak
Mr. Cluberti, thanks for providing that information. With respect to Vista, will it be more configurable than XP, i.e., can remove those things you don't want?
