MlssCue
Hello everyone. Here's my problem. I recently upgraded my HD from an 8GB to a 30 GB I also upgraded from 98 to 98SE and every since I get errors all the time. I am not sure if the other components in the computer can not handle the size of the HD or if the SE is the cause. My system is as followsIBM Aptiva Series 500 (The model is 2158 500)AMD K6-2/400 processor100 MHZ front side bus96 MB RAM (expandable to 256)4x DVD ROMVideo card: ATI 3D Rage ProIn leiu of the error messages I get anything from "Windows Protection Error" to "Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module" (these vary) but one is OLEAUT.DLLUpon my searches I have come across things from it being a BIOS problem, to heat problems, driver upgrades (which I'm sure I need but do not know where/what I need).I'll stop here and see if anyone can help me and if I've left out any further information that may be needed just let me know and I'll gladly provide it. :-)Thanks! Crash&Burn
Does properties on the Drive read 30Gig? If so then its likely not a BIOS issue. And there shouldn't be that much difference from 98 to SE to cause OLEAUT issues. Likely should try a clean install. And then update your ATI rage drivers. RainyShadow
Sounds like a RAM problem to me. Check if the sticks are fitted well on their slots and run some memory tests if you can (MemTest or GoldMem would be fine)
