4 SATAII drives? "And maybe another 2"? I think you might want a bit more wattage...

E.g. I've been using one of these: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?InvtId=EC-P680D-NB

for 2 years with no problem:

680-watt ATX power supply by Echostar -- Gold

General Features:

Fans mounted at front and back of power supply for optimum cooling

ATX motherboard power connector and ATX 12V connectors

Five (5) 4-pin Molex drive power connectors

One (1) SATA power connector

One (1) floppy power connector

Gold color for aesthetic appeal

Power Ratings, Input:

110/220VAC, 50/60Hz, 6/3A

Power Ratings, Output:

+12V, 22A

+5V, 50A

+3.3V, 45A

+5Vsb, 2A

-12V, 0.8A

-5V, 0.5A

Total wattage: 680W

The Fortron or the OCZ should be able to handle your requirements easily. I used to have 6 sata drives, 2 dvd-writers, an opteron 146, about 6 fans and a 7800gt powered with a single 500W Ultra X-connect PSU till I decided to add 3 more drives to my system and thereby upgrade to a dual PSU system.

3X NEC3550A DVD Writers

ocz does not fit this criteria.

Do you know what splitters are? My PSU now actually has 10 Large, 4 Small, and 2 Satas.
