Removed Q329414.EXE because MDAC 2.8 SP1 installs newer files

Updates that will be added

Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 SP1

Sorry for my English, but MDAC is already added or will be added in future? :o

From the way things look, I probably won't be adding it.

I figured out why the service pack was breaking Internet Explorer. I wasn't suppose to register the .DLL files.

I did some extreme testing to find this out. I did about 5 formats and clean installs.

I also found that if you use 98lite to rip out IE you can still browse the internet using explorer address bar.

I tested both set of files and the IE 5.5 SP2 files are super stable.

IE 6 SP1 files did ok. I highly recommend 98lite users to use IE 5.5 SP2 files.

Thanks Problemchyld!

Just one thing I spotted in your information, in the USB 2.0 notice.

You say at the end -

"Rename USBEHCI2.SYS to USBEHCI.SYS and replace it with the version in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS directory."

I think you actually mean -

"Rename USBEHCI2.SYS to USBEHCI.SYS and replace the version in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS directory with it."!

:)

After installing 98SESP3.0 -> which updates are still need to be installed?

I'm not sure what you actually need on your computer, but you should be ok after installing main updates.
MDAC 2.8 SP1 or better MD Data Access Component Update 2.0?

Also want to ask about MD InternetExplorer 6.0sp1 Component Update 3.4 - is it compatible with new version of 98SE SP3?

I don't use neither, but if you think you need them please install them.

As long as you read the Internet Explorer warning then you should be good.

Hello Problemchyld!

What an excellent work! Respect!

I have a small question regarding added updates. Which is the reason for not adding NET Framework and DirectX 9.0 in the Service Pack? Both of them would be considered as major update components for Windows 98. Plain curiosity. No intention to make yoy change your update scedule. :)

Please don't download the service pack now.

w98's uSP file downloads will be suspended until 9th of March 2012

We are running out of bandwith!

PROBLEMCHYLD don't update the files in the next 3 days!

I hope that later everything will be all right.

Sorry for the inconveniance.
