Thanks for this update.

Nice to see that your project and you (as a person) are still alive!

Could you tell us where MSIMG32.dll comes from?

These updates/packages are not included into uSP3-0-beta3

Great....i can't wait to get the final...will be ok to install on an already updated install ?
No problem so fa with the last uSP.

I had an expected issue with ESDI_506.PDR, but that's not common, more specific to my computer, I think.

For those having the same issue with ESDI_506.PDR, please try the version 4102222 from LLMX's patch

see forum

What exactly is this problem ? I got a hdd related problem in that when i enable dma on my second hdd it screws the fat (tho its fixable with minimal data loss) & when i copy files between hdds crcs change. Is this related to esdi_506.pdr ?

I don't know.

The problem I had was that the drives were working "on DOS compatibility mode". You still can test the other version.

@Fredledingue

MSIMG32.dll is from WinMe for newest Opera, that could function correctly now. I see no new special changes. Nice to see Readme.txt; it makes this product more professional - really; that this product It has not been downloaded from unknown with undocumented changes in code. Some people can think that there it can be warez, vir or spy.

Best regards

spplus,

Thanks for the infos.

I wanted to know was if it came from a patch. If yes which one.

"it's more professional", ehehe, sarcasm sarcasm...

Don't feel offended be cause we have been asking question on you Service Pack. You have to admit that there was absolutely zero information about your pack until we realy insisted.

Don't be angry, we just try to work toghether in a constructive manner.

Of course, I mean it's more professional - not most professional. This translator what I use is bad! As you see, one word and change everything. I will fix it.

No, but I don't think you would have any issue other than seeing some message box in english instead of your local language.

I don't think it will crash your system because of language, for example.

I installed it on a french windows and everything was fine.

Don't forget to update these files and did you fix the Windows Update error?

I agree that some if not most of these updates should be applied to Gape's pack. However there is one I am nervous about due to some users having problems with it. The patched IO.sys caused one users drive letters to become messed up. I think this patch needs further testing. It worked OK for me, but I have a very standard configuration. I.E. my hard drive is C:, Floppy is A: etc. On more unusual systems this might cause problems. X360C.exe is a device driver, and that is not something that we should really get into because it would set a precedent that we should add more device drivers and then we end up with a huge SP that would span a couple of CDs.I think for users who want the kitchen sink approach, the autopatcher fills this need. I think Gape's pack should be for people who use 98 Lite, or don't use IE, or updates IE manually.

Hi, :hello:

i've installed the new "98SE SP3.0 Beta3" (in french translation)

on my Win 98SE + IE6 SP1 (+ WMP9),

and it brought me 2 bugs:

1°) the window of the search function (= F3) is blank: the top is normal, I can write the word I'm searching for,

but the bottom were the results are supposed to appear, stays blank.

This issue is corrected if I install after the patched "Shell98 v.4.72.3812.634"

2°) my browser cannot read anymore the Wmv videos embedded in a webpage.

For instance, here: http://jt.france2.fr/13h/,

I see the player but don't read anything.

Thanks, if you can help.

Regards. :D

CharlesF

Edit:

1°) for the "SHELL" problem, same thing with "Win98SE SP3.0 Beta2",

but the SP2 is working fine.

2°) for the "Wmv videos embedded" problem, I had tried SP2, SP3B2 & SP3B3 with the same result!

(between each try, I restore the initial state using Drive Image).

I had tried also to reinstall WMP 9 on the top with the MPSetup.exe file, and then the Codec Installation Package for WMP9 (of MS), but it didn't help at all !!

I don't understand... :(

Thanks Gape.

This is coming together.

I installed the MAIN updates only here.

This system is an old installation.

PPPMAC.VXD is still an issue on systems with

netbios networking.

I got a 'windows file protection error' on reboot.

Replacing pppmac.vxd got past that.

There's a new ROOTSUPD version available.

I had version 17,0,2195,0 and the sesp

replaced it with version 16,0,2195,0.

Those apparently will overwrite an older version.

I did not know that.

Along the same lines.. deleting the CryptoSignMenu key

probably works fine in spupdate.inf but it is added

right back in by some subsequent action.

This didn't show up in a regshot at all. So it

must be added back in during 1 of the RunPost sections

and before the install completes (and before a reboot).

Dunno.

Other than that.

I replaced the windows only version of EXTRACT.EXE

provided in the service pack

with 1 that works on my Emergency Boot Disks.

That is my personal preference.

Thanks again.

Your time and work are much appreciated.
