That Reiser FS project looks a good idea, although lacking a few essential points. In my eyes, all the following are an absolute MUST :-

1. It must be possible to create (ie format) the filesystem within Windows.

2. It must also be possible to run CHKDSK (or a similar tool if that's abolutely not possible) within Windows and during the boot phase in the same way as with NTFS.

3. The filesystem must offer full read/write support.

Without all these features, it's just a tool for those already running Linux & Windows side by side. With all the above, it gives Reiser a chance to maybe give NTFS a **** good run for its money, on its own territory. And I'm sure that is what we'd all really like from it, right ?
