Done! I'm also moving the qfecheck files to supp.cab.

I've followed erpdude8 indications.
In slayout2.inf these strings are ok?
TWEAKUI.CPL=1
TWEAKUI.HLP=1
TWEAKUI.CNT=1
QFECheck.exe=55
QFECheck.hlp=55

see my latest beta of the 98fe SP 2.x. latest is now beta 5.

answer is NO.

this is what is listed in the slayout2.inf file in my 98fe SP-

note to the_guy: see my latest post on the "Requesting Windows hotfixes" thread:

apparently there is a revised version of the Q316638 hotfix which has newer Portcls.sys file. you may also ask Petr to help you get the newer hotfix if you cant get it.

EDIT: I should also point out that I could NOT get 899282 from Microsoft. If anyone has the file, could they please send it to me so I can include it in the SP.
I seems that all of KB832584, KB888617, KB899282 fixes are no longer available.

can you try requesting the KB888617 Msvbvm60.dll v6.0.97.86 hotfix instead? or the KB832584 hotfix if KB888617 is not available?

thankx Petr. looks like all msvbvm60.dll fixes have been dropped by MS. not sure if there'll be a newer version of msvbvm60.dll file included in windows vista

note to the_guy: new version of ROOTSUPD.EXE released now 234KB in size with updated Root Certificate files.

Vista RC1 build 5600 contains MSVBVM60.DLL 6.00.9792 1374751 bytes.

Vista RC2 build 5744 includes MSVBVM60.DLL 6.00.9796 1378064 bytes. It also has a comment - September 25, 2006. I suppose that's the actual build date.

It's all ok, metapad is in c:\windows, but to put a shortcut in the desktop or in the accessories?

Another problem, the SP doesn't install all updates I think (unfortunately I've sufficient time to read some "Impossible..." in the command prompt, too much fast).

During reboot, appears this message:

Windows could not upgrade the file %1 from %2 %1: %2

Help me.

Changelog for beta 7 (should be out by the end of the day):

-Moved Tweakui and qfecheck files to supp.cab

-Added 318293 fix (kernel32.dll 4.90.0.3001)

-Updated 891711 (kb891711.exe to version 4.10.2227)

-Removed KB832483 (not for MDAC included with ME)

-Updated msvbvm60.dll to version 6.0.97.96 (Vista RC2) replaces 2003 SP1 version.

In response to the error, I get it as well. I ignore it and my computer works fine.

Also, I have metapad replace notepad, which removes the need for a metapad shortcut.
