Hello all,

I am planning on building a new computer system (Price Range $1000-$1300).

I plan on obtaining all parts from Newegg. If any of you know of another online store with better prices, please tell. If there is anything else that I am missing please tell me.

Here is a listing of parts that I have in my shopping cart with Newegg.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor

ABIT AN8 SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB)

Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-430 430W Power Supply

ASUS 7800 GTX Video Card

NEC Black IDE DVD Burner Model ND-3540A

This type of computer is for primarily used for playing the latest games and encoding videos from my DV Camorder. (I travel alot)

I need help choosing a proper case.

I'll use my existing hard drives for this computer (200GB and 300GB Western Digital ATA133) Is this a good idea?

Thanks

A gaming PC will also emphasize on cooling ability, so I recommend this case:

It's plain and simple, and will go with your black DVD burner well. Lian Li cases have exceptional ventilation and the design is well thought out, and with addition to some Silverstone fans it'll keep the components cool.

For the hard drives, I recommend picking up a SATA drive to be used for Windows Partition and installed games (Preferably something like Maxtor's Maxline III 250GB for speed and space), so your older ATA drives will not be a bottleneck for the rest of your system.

mobo: dfi nf4 ultra-d or sli-dr

psu:ocz powerstream 520

gfx:evga 7800gt or 7800gtx , they have a nice lifetime warrenty, even if you overclock them and mess them up

ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227211

those hdds will be okay... but if you got some nice WD sataII hdds then you will have a huge performance gain

for the case, this is my personal favorite
