Phyb3r
Is the Service Pack 2 for Windows XP Pro officially released by Microsoft ? I saw it mentioned in the front page of MSFN and also in other few sites, but couldn't find it in MS's website. Is it a beta version that is lying around ? Greetz to MSFN, Arun,India. asklepios
nope...SP2 is not officially released as yet. some beta thing is lying around though but IMO you should remain far away from a beta release.cheers
Aaron
Nope, it's not yet officially released by Microsoft, what you see on frontpage are only news of pre-betas being leaked. SP2 is due at the end of 2003, or the first quarter of 2004.edit: heh, asklepios beat me to it
empty
Yea, i wouldnt recommend the pre beta SP2's ive hears some ghastly stories from people who have risked it. Im pretty excited about it though, i just hope i dont suffer from intolerable slowdown from installing it like i did with SP1 ( i made a slipstreamed copy which remedied this problem just one day before MS released their slowdown patch. my bad )
prathapml
Service Pack 2 is going to be released in a week's time. But if you can't wait that long and if you want a pre-release copy of XP SP2 (quite stable), here you go:http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechn...sp2preview.mspx
