i didn't know exroidal had fans! he's very pleased to be the HFSLIP mascot :thumbup

i suppose at this point perhaps we oughta run a photoshop logo contest?

i think its probably time. here are the original photoshop elements:

http://www.vorck.com/data/hfslip-logo.zip

submission deadline? hmm, dunno. how about the end of october? october 31? is that workable?

a few things:

1. please, photoshop only, no ms paint or paint shop pro craziness.

2. we want everyone to have input, but...

3. tommyp will be the final yes or no vote as it's his project.

4. all submitters must link to their logo entry (in other words, i won't be hosting it until it wins) so use your ISP's free web space or use a host like http://www.imageshack.us/

5. don't just put your entry as an upload onto MSFN, that's kind of lazy and anyway it doesn't allow people to just click and see, they have to download and open it and that's no fun

anything i missed?

get to work, photoshoppers!

  • 4 months later...

It only works in modern web browsers, though. Alpha-transparency needs to be supported.

Edit...

8-bit non-transparent version with blue background (downgraded for compatibility with IE):

Just one question... I can't save the extra bandwidth so if you want to use either logo please don't link to the one(s) on my server...

before the week is out (i hope) i'll re-p'shop the originals to have the light blue background otherwise ie users will see the wrong color, since ie has had an alpha channel display bug since August 27th, 2001. hey wait, that's a 1,659 day old bug!

I didn't like the white borders around the windows logo thingy, so I got rid of them. ;)
You noticed that? I can see a little gloss when I zoom in to 300% with Opera, but I can't distinguish it at 100%. Then again... My screen resolution is 1280x960 on a 17" CRT... Edited by Tomcat76

Well then I retract my statement accusing you of being a web designer ;)

Mine is 1280x1024 aswell on a 17" CRT. 60hz and about 5 years old.

Here is a transparent version of the smaller one.
Argh, the whiteness!

tomcat76 version with "kramy processing" featuring New Improved White Remover:

(Although Exroydal will become testy if he is not displayed and he will be tempted to make all of your Elk chili disappear). Speaking of which, TAiN i think i left my barbecue sauce in your 'fridge?

Need to go to bed...

here for no apparent reason is a picture of me in a kilt.

<offtopic>CRTs (and 15" TFTs) follow the 4:3 resolution standard so you should be using 1280x960. 1280x1024 is for TFT screens that are more rectangular (17" and higher).</offtopic>

Oh... You're in the picture too? :D

Agghh! I think you all want me to go disgruntled! Can't you see that big ugly blue square!? What is this - all photoshop users are colour blind? :o

And for the record, what's wrong with Paint Shop Pro?

FDV: If I had a picture of Exroydal, I would have put him in.

Tomcat76: Didn't know that. I prefer the extra space though, so...
