Many people know from their own experience that it's not easy to install an Apache web server and it gets harder if you want to add MySQL, PHP and Perl.

XAMPP is an easy to install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP and Perl. XAMPP is really very easy to install and to use - just download, extract and start.

Changelog:

* Update MySQL 4.1.15

* Update PHP 5.0.5

* Update PEAR

* Update FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.10a

* Update phpMyAdmin 2.6.4-pl1

* Update sendmail v16

* and much more ...

Ah.... Its fast & easy alright, but whoever uses it, please take just TWO MINUTES to read the part about securing your server. Its not secure by default (for the sake of ease-of-use), & has clear instructions about how to secure your server.

Also, turn on safe running, in php.ini, if you dont want to get hacked. :P

This is the part to change:

; Safe Mode

;

safe_mode = Off

Seen EasyPHP. Its got lots of security vulnerabilities, for one, & its not updated frequently either.

Its design is kinda "putting off"... One wouldn't want it when XAMPP is around.

Moreover, its too bulky, you might as well use the Lite version of xampp with no features missing. And when you move to the full pack, you get a huge array of features!

@prathapml

Thanks for those notes. This is something I am new to, and I haven't had experience with it yet. It's something I do want to do eventually, as I enjoy doing php and having to test remotely is an annoying method.
