How?!

Mine always turn out at like 400MB, and that's without and extra installers :(

First i nLite down to 111MB (with drivers and hotfixes) then add my $OEM$ which is 103MB

All but these

Framework

Java

Nero

Office2003

are extracted from a 7-Zip sfx archive and i use office shrink, ncab and re-packed 7-ziped framework and java installers. :D

At the moment, I have successfully been able to shrink Office 2K3, just unable to get it to install successfully. Additionally, Crimson Editor needs an update pronto. It's line-highlighting and tabulated features are useful, but the word wrap is somewhat warped, among other known bugs they haven't bothered to fix since 2004. I would switch back to Notepad2 in a heartbeat if it had tabs. At any rate, all of these applications are installed unattended, after 7zip coming to a mere 428 MB. Combined with the nLited XP source, the grand total comes to just 638 MB, enough room to add something else that could come my way.

Unfortunately, EditPad Lite doesn't compare. Crimson Editor even came with the idea of a replacement for notepad so that if you typed notepad at the command line the application would open...pure genius.

You could install EP Lite into C:\Windows\System32\ and then copy the exe over notepad.exe :P

I just associate it with all text files, config files and any other files I use a text editor to open, and also a keyboard hotkey
