InTheWayBoy Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Can't believe I forgot about Notepad2...I usually replace it in the source, so I don't really install it. Best editor ever...too bad there isn't autoit syntax support.

tap52384 Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 (edited) My Thinkpad R31 cannot read DVDs, but thanks to NLite & 7zip, I'm able to still fit all of the applications I want:1) Crimson Editor2) Microsoft Office 20033) Adobe Photoshop 74) .Net Framework 1.1 SP15) Lavasoft Ad-aware SE 6) Spybot - Search & Destroy7) Mozilla Firefox 1.5 Beta 28) AOL Instant Messenger + cmd to remove AOL Explorer9) DeadAim 4.510) UberIcon 1.011) Inno Setup 5, ISTool12) Nero Burning Rom Plugin (WMP9)13) Rainlendar14) RecordNow!15) SyncToy16) K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.3817) CCleaner 1.2418) Diskeeper 9.0 Pro19) Symantec Antivirus 1020) Konfabulator 2.1.121) mp3DirectCut 2.0 Beta22) WS_FTP 6.0 LE23) nLite 1.0 RC124) Python 2.425) My Tunes Redux26) Google Desktop 2 Beta27) 7zip 4.29 Beta28) Oracle Calendar 10.0.1.129) Oracle Calendar Connector for Outlook30) Adobe Reader 7.0.331) Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 532) Console 1.5 (@ sourceforge, front end for command prompt)33) AR System 6 (work application)34) SoundCapture35) TweakUI36) PowerToy Calculator37) ClearType Tuner PowerToy38) DVD Profiler39) OpenAFS 1.3.8At the moment, I have successfully been able to shrink Office 2K3, just unable to get it to install successfully. Additionally, Crimson Editor needs an update pronto. It's line-highlighting and tabulated features are useful, but the word wrap is somewhat warped, among other known bugs they haven't bothered to fix since 2004. I would switch back to Notepad2 in a heartbeat if it had tabs. At any rate, all of these applications are installed unattended, after 7zip coming to a mere 428 MB. Combined with the nLited XP source, the grand total comes to just 638 MB, enough room to add something else that could come my way. Edited October 10, 2005 by tap52384
tap52384 Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Unfortunately, EditPad Lite doesn't compare. Crimson Editor even came with the idea of a replacement for notepad so that if you typed notepad at the command line the application would open...pure genius.

Crimson Editor even came with the idea of a replacement for notepad so that if you typed notepad at the command line the application would open...pure genius. You could install EP Lite into C:\Windows\System32\ and then copy the exe over notepad.exe I just associate it with all text files, config files and any other files I use a text editor to open, and also a keyboard hotkey
