Nero Burning ROM v7 installation

I have attached an MST that will allow Nero to be deployed, that is when you apply the MST there is no longer a requirement to have used setupX.exe. This gives you the flexibility to create your own standard transforms to apply after this one to customise the options you want.

EDIT: File has been removed as it contained a key; I will post a new one soon. This doesn’t really change the usefulness of the MST, it just means you're going to have to include your CD Key in the transforms you create to customise the options you want, rather than in this base transform.

Thanks delta, & we received a report saying that the MST attached above, contained a key.

Since that would violate forum rules, please re-post that file with the key removed from it.

The key can still be specified at command-line, alongside the MST, for silent setup, aint it?

It's only my private beta key and won't work from the release date onwards. When evilvoice said:

well, this is interesting...in the setupx.exe file it says that there is a file that will not be available until Oct (the release date of nero 7)

he'd actually come across the file that will change the way keys are read - so all you people with keygens might find yourselves very disappointed soon!

I'd forgotten my key is in there, and will post a new version soon. (removing the current one once I finish this writing this post)

Post 3 and already violating forum rules...dear oh dear....my apologies !

Ok. I just got my copy and I tried to figure out how to install it silently. This method is probably the simplest way of installing this program. I don't have enough time to try it and mess with MST's because I'm preparing for my test tomorrow. I was challenged, and I can't stop thinking about this. Now I think we have the solution. This solves the SETUPX.EXE requirement problem.

1) Import a registry file

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ahead\Installation\Families\Nero 7\Info]
; NOTICE THE ASTERISK (*) BEFORE THE SERIAL NUMBER. IT IS IMPORTANT
"Serial7_1128919465"="*XXXX-YYYY-ZZZZ-0000-ABCD-1234-5678"
"Version"="7.0.0.0"
"User"="YOUR_NAME"
"Company"=" YOUR_COMPANY"

2) Run this command:

NeroSuite.msi STARTPARAM="CallFromExe" DONOTRUNSETUPX="1" /QB

Optional:

a ) You can add your customized MST (if you have one) by adding TRANSFORMS="YOUR_MST_FILE.MST"

b ) To avoid the reboot, try adding REBOOT=SUPPRESS or REBOOT=ReallySuppress (not tested, I don't have time!)

This method worked for me.

Cheers! :)

EDIT:

Oppss... Sorry.. I thought there is no solution to this program yet because I did not see this thread. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=56208

I feel so stupid..

ok... what i've noticed...

totoymola's switches indeed work great.... mucho txs... :D (where did you get these...lol... been going nuts with Installshield X and orca... :wacko: )... Oh yeah... and no luck either on those no reboot switches Orsi... You are not alone... lol

Iv'e also noticed that modifying the "conf.txt" in your "Nero 7 Ultra Edition\Redist\Config" folder would alter the choices available in GUI mode... Unfortunately it seems this file is used by "setupX.exe" and not by NeroSuite.msi, thus installing the entire suite if you don't use a transform... :blink:

Would you know of a way to keep install silent but still using setupX.exe ... If I think right that would allow to safely delete from the source the unwanted modules and create a tailored silent install without the need to use or make a transform... hmmm... Leme know... :huh:

Personally, I think it is a lot easier to use WMP 10 by re-enabling the DVD Features. Just paste the code below into a notepad window and save it as *.reg. Just double click it to install it or use: "REGEDIT.EXE /S Reg.reg" to install in code.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
; Enable DVD Features in Media Player
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Settings]
"EnableDVDUI"="yes"

This thread is also very useful: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=1101

  • 2 weeks later...

To make an admin install

1)First copy all the Files from CD1/Nero 7 Ultra Edition to a folder

2)Then go to Redist\Config and open up conf.txt

3)At the bottom of conf.txt there is a section MSIPROPERTY SERIALNUM , put your serial number:

MSIPROPERTY SERIALNUM THIS-ISNOT-AREAL-SERIAL

4)Then open a cmd and type

msiexec /a "The path to NeroSuite.msi"

To Disable Nero Scout

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\InCDFs]

"Start"=dword:00000004

I use orca tool for configure NeroSuite.msi

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en

im add serial num directly in msi, disable all unwanted components, save new msi file...

in *property* table of msi file, insert row *PIDKEY* - *xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-....* (where xx - serial num)

but when i run NeroSuite.msi /passive /norestart - norestart dont work 8(

i try many various options of installer, pc always goto reboot..

is anybody knows where IN Installer i can disable autoreboot?

sorry for bad english...

ok, i solve this problem with installrite - now my nero is only 47 meg exe/silent/selfinstall file, not rebootable 8)

what we should do:

first of all > if u already have installed nero, u must uninstall nero succesfully! clean up your registry (in regedit press ctr+f then enter nero 7, then delete all finded *nero 7* and *ahead* values in all hives)

1) download & install >>> http://www.epsilonsquared.com/anonymous/InstallRite25.exe

2) after first start of installrite close popup window *startup help* then press *install new software and create installkit*

3) press *configure* btn for monitoring only C:\ drive (all other options live on their default values)

4) press next

5) program will collect some info from our drive & registry

6) next window - *installation program to run* - select file *SetupX.exe* in nero7 directory then next..

7) installrite's window will now hide, and nero install will begin..

8) after installing nero (configure nero how u want, enter your serial, .. ) press *not reboot now*

9) nero setup will be closed, and istallrite window will unhide, press *next*

10) installrite will search whole registry & harddrive for changes after nero setup..

11) Type in the name of the installation - i.e. nero7 (without extension)

12) press *build install kit*, then mark needed checkbox (i mark *quiet installation mode* & *never reboot, even if needed* & *never prompt the user and only overwrite older files*)

13) press ok, installrite will compile new exe-file

14) now we can close that cool program & goto *C:\Program Files\Epsilon Squared\InstallRite\Install Kits*, where we will find *nero7.exe*

sorry for bad English, im Russian... if admins can correct my post for lang errors - thats will be great 8)

Привет из России!
