ThespianBill
Hi there,I am a recent convert to Outlook (2003) from Outlook Express as my email client and I am trying to find a specific setting. What I would like to do is NOT to automatically Send & Recieve emails on sign-on, sign-off or at regular intervals because I prefer to first filter the incoming mail (using MailWasher) to remove spam and unexpected emails. What I DO want to set though is to automatically send new emails that I create as soon as I click on the "SEND" button. My Outlook Express handled this perfectly and I am sure that this is a simple exercise - I just cannot find the setting. Many ThanxBill Conté
markajm
well, for the regular interval send/recieve, select:tools -> send/receive -> send/receive settings -> Disable scheduled send/receivefor immediate send check the box at:tools -> options -> mail setup -> Send immediately when connectedi'm not sure about disabling the sign-on, sign-off check. you can set it to download headers only (which should leave the mail on your server) so that it can be scanned by your filter software.
