so, since I havn't heard from users in soo long.

Who wants a beta 3.0.

Ill release it this week-end if you ask for it, here or the other forums.

GPL should make it easy to modify beta 3.0 easily.

Software support will come out differently, maybe a program this time around.

So far 60 games, and 100's of programs can work. But the method of making them work is what will take some time to develop.

Anyone who'd like to contibute to this part of the project can by providing help in making the program for it.

I am eagerly waiting for beta 3. I was reading on your other fotum that it will most likely have the ability to modify all nt based builds.

This includes windows 2000 YIPEEEEE :D

What do you think the size for windows 2000 will be? I know you most likey havnt tried it yet but give a good guess,

well, probbally around 35MB for 2k alone.

but it will probbally be able to be shrunk more.

but possibly, less.

@comrade tux, but wouldn't that also, deter developers from using it, modifing and adding stuff?

I'd prefer a Creative Commons license instead of a GPL one.

If you want to allow a commercial redistribution, with GPL you need to get an agreement from all persons who contributed.

With Creative Commons you don't need to.

(this was just an example)

With a Creative Commons license, you keep your copyright but allow people to copy and distribute your work provided they give you credit -- and only on the conditions you specify here.

See this page : http://creativecommons.org/about/licenses/meet-the-licenses

I'd go for by-nc-sa (or by-nc) : paternity, non-commercial, share-alike.

I do want to try and make sure, they are not trying to make malware run in microwinX and add that back to microwinX code.

but that is always a possibility, so I think that one will be a good idea to add.

cause I guess someone could always come, patch 100's of virus and spyware and stuff, for their own builds. but I doubt this will be very easy to do, when everyone can make changes so easily.

maybe something like this.

changes must be shared with microwinX and the community theirof, all submitted changes will be approved by microwinX prior to being released to the community theirof.

guess it just means I will need a few ppl who can approve for me too, cause who wants to wait for approval haha.

hi gdogg sent you email containing my Bblean files so that spazmire11 can use what he needs from them. Let me know if you got them.

Also I know a good Graphic designer that could give you guys a hand, if so, I will contact him if you need him.

Best of luck.

Beta 3.0?

I want one as well :)

Can't wait for 56k modem and especially gamepad support.

(Gamepad support just needs the built-in XP USB joystick driver)

The only things that prevent me from fully enjoying MicrowinX.

P.S. bbLean is a 'killer' shell replacement (if you're good at customizing it).

I wonder if you're going to shave off some additional RAM by replacing that LiteStep shell with bbLean?

no, their will be no replacing of the shell.

their will be the ability to change the shell in beta 3.0

choices will be as follows

litestep (default) bblean (optional) explorer (classic) explorer (themed)

56K support is not 100% know at this time.

if want to help with some pointers of what it needs. Ill get it workin.

@mamas6667

I never recieved that email.

if you want to send it via PM instead, and upload to a free storage site, like megaupload ... etc

that will be great
