Zxian
TORONTO, Canada (CNN) -- An Air France passenger jet attempting to land at Toronto's Pearson International Airport overran a runway by 200 meters Tuesday, bursting into flames and sending smoke billowing into the sky."There are no known fatalities" among the 297 people and 12 crew members who were on board, an airport spokesman said. About 14 people suffered minor injuries, said Steve Shaw, chairman of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. The Airbus 340, arriving from Paris and attempting to land in a thunderstorm, crashed into a tree-lined gully.Source (CNN)At least no one was killed... m4dh0
god thats rough thank god no one was hurt but the piolet should be punished<{POST_SNAPBACK}>The Pilot should not be punushed until an enquiry has determined if it was him at fault or a failure outside of his control (due to bad maintainance of aircraft for example)
the_guy
Well from what I saw on the news last night, eyewitnesses are saying that the plan got hit by lightning, meaning that this was out of the pilots control.

mark
It's possible that lightning could have caused the accident but the aircraft are built to take some lightning strikes. Besides, wouldn't the Farraday cage effect be in effect here?Either way, it will be months and months before there is an official statement on what caused the accident.DL

They should have either continued circling or diverted to another nearby airport rather than take the risk they did. I'd hate to be the one to do the bag claims on all the luggage/cargo that got f**ked up!!
