Voted 2K, Win2K was the first stable Windows OS I've used, and XP is just about the same as 2K in terms of reliability and stability, with the odd crash here and there when I'm mucking with gfx drivers or such. :)

 God your missing Windows NT (service packs on of course) off that is VERY stable hasnt ever crashed on me, also XP is good but i have had the Blue screen a few times when installing... and also 2000 is good but on some computers ctrl + alt and uparrow seems to upset it and re-boot it :) and had a few non responding issues!

I used linux for 4 years (in time of win95, win98, ME and BSOD all the time) then tried Windows XP Beta 1.

Rest is history.

Windows XP is most stable OS of all time.

IMHO sure.

We talking here about desktop OS, not server. Most stable server OS?

That's another story.

*NIX is obviously the most stable OS...but if you mean "most stable OS for home users," then XP definitely takes the cake. Well, tie between XP and 2K, but XP is more user friendly. My longest uninterrupted uptime was somewhere around 3wks, 3days
