Hey All,hope u all r fine.Well i had a prob and i needed a help from u all.Please be patient to read it atleast.I describe u my problem a bit in detailed .

Our company manufactures some boxes called bandwidth manager. Its job u can most probably guess by the name of the box itself. It has a simple working stratergies based upon IP' s.What my job is to make that box application recognising.Like

~It should not allow the users of the network to acces certain specific URL's.and also blocking URL's according to the depth.

~it should recognize P2P (Peer to Peer) clients running on the network and block them.

~It should block the various internet messengers also.

~It should allow only .PDF & .DOC documents to be downlaoded.that too with the size limit.

Well this was my job.Now some thing about the Box.The bandwidth manager works fully on Nucleous real time operating system.with a 64 Mb memory (Which can be expanded ne how).

What i m looking out from u people

~I m looking out for a concept, code, program, logic or nething concerned with specific URL blocking in C language.(URL 1st pref)

~If i can get a source code of a kind of firewall in C language.(U need a scrap to start na)

~If ne straight logic of blocking of P2P in network.

~If u cant help technically,Moral support is welcome.(Just joking)

~U can always forward this mail to your "CODER" friends, nay be they can help.

I know i m expecting too much......but still i have no oyher chices as Googling from last 1 week has not given me ne concrete result.

I would just say a Big thanx for reading it atleast.

Nehow u all Take Care.

Enjoy

Shobhit

Note-if i could get a C program (window based or linux based.....) for URL blocking......or even a concept will work...plz help......

An URL blocking OPEN SOURCE app:

About all the other features, easier way is to block the ports those apps use, with a firewall like app, here are a few:

http://osswin.sourceforge.net/#firewall

http://www.modsecurity.org/

Googling for "open source" firewall will give you hundreds of interesting results.
