WinXP installation from HD

I'm trying to do the same thing with Vista. However, I've never tried to install XP from a HD either. My basic thought... I have a 40 internal drive on my laptop, no DVD drive. The drive is partitioned at 10gb/30gb, I figured there must be a way to copy the installations files to C:\ (10gb) and install Vista/XP via that drive to D:\ (30gb). May be a pipe dream, but if at all possible I'd like to know how. I've read in other places to copy the i386 folder to C:\ and use a Win98 boot disk to intialize the install to D:\, but not sure. Any ideas would be great. TIA

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you are using a large hard disk that was formatted by using an operating system other than Windows XP.

All my HDD partitions were formatted by using a Windows XP operating system.
Another n00b pwned!

Yourself? :thumbup
