kokiri
How can I make a customized ISO that installs 98micro rather than modifying a post installation using 98lite. I need instructions step by step because my knowledge in this area is very foggy.

eidenk
If I am correct, and I think I am, browsing this very board or maybe using the search facility, will yeld all links you are seeking for. Better maybe to bring up those old threads in front instead of posting new ones that no one will answer.
jaclaz
There are quite a bunch of related thread/links both here and on the 911CD forum. Here are the most recent (and possibly useful) ones:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=27296http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=27354I abandoned my (very primitive) project, mainly from lack of interest.I posted recently what remains of it here:http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=12326The most active project at the moment is the one from "winimize":http://winimize.com/jaclaz

Acheron
You can use 98Lite to enhance your Windows Setup dir. When 98Lite starts the regular Windows 98 SETUP after it has made modifications it's possible to reset the pc and back-up the 98Lite Setup folder.Without interupting the SETUP 98Lite will remove it's custom setup files. This can be your starting point for a base setup system which install's the Windows 95 Shell for example by default Edited July 5, 2005 by hp38guser
os2fan2
The 98lite install creates four options, micro, sleek, chubby and overweight (normal). The first one is best avoided, since a good number of programs make use of the extra functionality in the W98 shell32.dll. There is an alternate shell-file based on Win95, that uses shell.w95, which you then add over the top of win98 sleek. There is an article by c't, on making Windows 9x boot from a ramdisk. This appears to be the basis of a number of efforts to make a 9x boot cd. I plan soon to start making one of these myself.
jaclaz
@os2fan2The c't article is this one:http://www.heise.de/ct/english/99/11/206/BOTH these:http://www.lachiesadicristo.it/w98cd/page1.htmhttp://www.geocities.com/politalk/are more recent and better explained.(there are more links in my previous posts)If you want to give a shot at it, please do keep us informed, here or better still, join this thread here:http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=12326The more info is kept together, the better results we will have.jaclaz Edited July 6, 2005 by jaclaz
kokiri
I am NOT interested in a live CD. Just a cd that can do a clean install of 98micro or some lite version of Windows 98.
kokiri
BTW, I would like to know how to do what is mentioned below. This information was found using Google's cache of a webpage in LitePC's website. http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:6rSGrAN...+features&hl=enUnattended Installation: 98lite Enterprise includes an optional.inifile for integration with Microsoft's Batch 98 setup utility forunattended installation of Windows 9x with (or without!) all the98lite optional features Network Setup, Custom CDROMs: Prepare network media or burn CDROM'sthat automatically install the modified windows setup. You can modifythe Windows setup process and then save that modified configuration toa CDROM or network drive for deployment as required. This purchase is for a single multi-user license. Enter the number ofmachines you will be installing to. A single CDROM will be mailed also(you can not remove the CDROM).
dirtwarrior
Have you made your micro windows 98?
kokiri
No, but I have found a couple of iso's with the 98lite directory in the root directory of the iso. So indirectly yes, but the process of doing a clean install is rather messy and I still haven't had success with installing 98micro, Sleek, or any other install that 98lite allows you to do.
